Leather & Wool & Suede, Oh My!

I went up to Manhattan this weekend for work and knew this dress had to make the trek.  I love the leather and wool - so warm and perfect for the season.  Normally I would have worn different shoes, but since I would be working and on my feet for our event all day, I thought stability and comfort were better.

I LOVE being in the city, and I'm sad it was for such a short while.  I've been to New York over a dozen times (it's about 3.5 hours away) but I could do weeks and weeks there.  There is so much history, I feel like I'm on an episode of Friends and I always have great stories.  Maybe one day I'll live up there - but for now, I'll pretend I'm Blair Waldorf on the weekends, and live amongst the Amish on weekdays.

Do you have a favorite city?  Do you love New York?  Do you try and pick out fun outfits when you go in to the city, like me?

  1. This is the perfect LBD and you styled it beautifully! I love to visit NYC or Boston. The fashions in NY are definitely really fun- and being there makes me think of Friends too!

    1. I'm so glad, I'm not alone. And Boston is such a great city! I try and go for a preppier look when I'm there. I just love the New England Prep.

    1. I LOVE Prague! I spent two nights there and I thought it was such a fun and gorgeous city. The culture and architecture is quite stunning. I can't wait to return!

And New York is nothing like Prague, certainly not as breathtaking, but it's pretty fun.

  3. Love this dress! I've never been to NYC (which is ridiculous as I live in NY lol) but I really enjoyed Las Vegas and I'd love to go back!

    1. WHAT?! You have to get on that! Haha I understand... people think it's hilarious that I live in PA and the only great lake I have yet to see is Erie... like how that happens, I have no clue. Even if you go for just a day or an overnight trip, you'll be SO exhilarated from being in the city, it will be so worth it.

  5. That is the perfect dress! I hope you had a great time in New York-- I miss it so much! When my husband and I were dating, he lived in NY and I lived in Boston-- so of course I visited him every chance I got! ;) All the food and scenery and museums are so great, not to mention the funky people you run into everywhere! Lucky you! Oh, and good thing you looked gorgeous ;)

    1. Thanks, Cynthia! I actually took these at the train station near my house right before we hopped on the train to the city (it's been that crazy I'll take any free moments in the sun). Even though I live in Amish Country, having a train near by feeds the metropolitan craving I have constantly.

    1. Oh, no, I LOVEEEEE Chicago! It's my favorite city in the US. I think it's a good one to do with the little family. I tell people that Chicago has everything I love about New York without the things I hate. Of course, I've only ever been when the weather was nice...... but it's a really, really cool place and I bet the kids will love it (as will mom & dad haha).
