Eggplant Farm

I'm slowly returning, lovelies!  I've had a wonderful holiday spending time with family and friends from near and far.  This is what I wore at my family's farm for Christmas.  Did any of you expect me to have grown up on a farm???  Ha! Believe it or not - this girly girl used to romp around the horses and cows in her frilly dresses.

I tell my parents though that their home is where nice shoes go to die.

Another fun part of this outfit?  I hate the color purple (don't hate me - I don't know why I just don't!) but I love this shirt!  The color is very pretty, the rhinestones are super fun, and I love the tiny tie in the back.  So fun and festive.

Did you all have a lovely holiday season??

Chasing Pavements

[Dress - Ya; Cardigan - J.Crew Factory; Heels - Audrey Brooke at DSW; Necklace - Target]

My mom used to say when we would travel to my grandparents's house in Delaware that we could always tell when we got into Maryland because the roads were smooth.  I guess our sidewalks are kind of like that, too.  When I go on my runs, it's almost like trail running on some of these ways.

Anywho, I bought this dress last year, but I still love it.  I didn't know how I felt about the mullet skirt (sorry, hi-lo) but it's definitely grown on me.  The color is different, it's very proper, but I love the peek-a-book back (you may know, I'm a serious back detail fan).  The best thing about this dress & the back detailing is that you can still wear a regular bra with it!  I can't tell you how many times I have to hike up my strapless bra, which is so cute, lemme tell ya.

How do you feel about the hi-lo/mullet skirt style?

Classic

[Necklace, Cami, & Clutch - Target; Bracelet - Kohl's; Cardigan - J.Crew Factory; Skirt - White House Black Market; Shoes - DSW]

I am a huge Audrey Hepburn fan.  I even dressed up as her for Halloween when I was in 6th grade.  I remember no one knowing who I was except for my friend's mom.  It was a little pathetic.  Luckily, every day I can pretend to be Audrey.  When I saw these shoes on DSW, I knew exactly which outfit they would compliment perfectly.  I love the thick heel - it makes them so practical to wear at work and walk around.

Who is your style icon?  Do you find yourself "playing dress-up" to mimic their style?

Green with Envy

[Top - TJMaxx; Pants & Shoes - Target; Gold Pave Chain Bracelet - J.Crew Factory]

I've had this shirt for a couple of years now and it's become quite the staple in my wardrobe.  I love the color, the material is super soft, is hard to wrinkle and washes well, and the back detail is the best!  My biggest recommendation is hit up your local TJMaxx, Ross, Marshall's, etc. and see if you can find a romantic blouse that isn't your typical Oxford blouse (I get so sick of those in the workplace).  The one thing I've had to learn with this shirt is to not play it safe.  The fancy cheetah flats were a step out of my comfort zone but I love how they look with this outfit.  Breaking up two things that normally wouldn't go together (teal and cheetah) with basic black really helps!

Mod

[Necklace - J.Crew Factory; Dress, Gloves, Tights & Booties - Target; Purse - ASOS]

When I shop at Target, I tend to go for things on super sale (for example, I used my Target Cartwheel app the other day to get 25% off the already on sale athletic wear, for which I already had an $8 off coupon.  SCORE!) but when I saw this dress, I knew I found my Christmas Eve dress.  I love the mod silhouette and funky design in the winter white.  Added with the leather gloves and quilted purse, it just seems so Twiggy.

The awesome black square bauble necklace was a gift for Christmas from the boyfriend, and I'm in love (with both... but definitely the necklace ;)).

Bleed Orange & Blue: Bullet & Bear Style

I'm all about school pride.  And I'm learning to love football in the fall (besides Friday Night Lights... I never needed help loving that).  No matter if it's showing my alma mater's colors with pride or going out to a bar to watch da bears with the boyfriend, I love, love LOVE orange & blue.  It's so classy & flattering, I think I may have a problem...

Labor Day Deals

I may or may not have gone wild over Labor Day weekend...

[Aztec Skirt - Express; Blue Issa Dress & Orange Polka Dot Scarf - Banana Republic, Necklace - J.Crew Factory; Bow Pearl Earrings - TargetBlush Top & Leopard Print Skirt - Loft; Red Printed Scarf & Purple Gold Toed Flats - Old Navy; Black Leather Jacket - The Limited]
Even better yet, I save $200 with all of these purchases!  I'm a fan of deals but I tend to forget to take advantage of holiday deals on the internet.  And the best thing - I got the blue Issa dress, the aztec skirt, and the leather jacket I've had on my list for months.  I can't tell what's my favorite... so I think I should wear it all at once.  I won't look silly at all ;)

First Day of School

I've only been out of school for two years (okay... college), but every fall, I get the itch.  I don't know if it's all the new styles, the changing weather, or the back-to-school supplies just begging for me to purchase, but there's just something about this time of year that makes me happy.  Here are some of my choices for that first day:

[Outfit 1: Shirt - ModCloth; Skirt & Shoes - Ruche; Jacket - Anthropologie]
[Outfit 2: Shirt - Forever21; Pants & Bag - ASOS; Shoes - DSW]
[Outfit 3: Dress - Lilly Pulitzer; Jacket - J.Crew Factory; Bag - Longchamp; Shoes - Bloomingdales; Earrings - Anthropologie]
[Outfit 4: Top - ModCloth; Jeans & Glasses - Anthropologie; Jacket - ASOS; Necklace - The Loft]
