Oh Say, Can You See?

[Sunnies - Warby Parker; T-Shirt & Booties - Target; Cardigan - H&M; Jeggings - Express; Scarf - Do Everything in Love]

I've had an American flag scarf on my list for a while when I saw it on Jessica at Seams for a Desire.  Luckily, my baby brother loves me... and his country ('Merica), so I got one for Christmas.  Perfect timing for the Olympics!  Even though the games in Sochi may be over, I'm still showing my patriot side.

I also may have loved the chicken nugget commercial for McDonald's... a little too much?

Uni Style

[Booties, Tights, Shorts - Target; Top - Banana Republic; Blazer & Black Enamel Bracelet - Kohl's; Pashmina - Gift; Pave Chain Link Bracelet - J.Crew Factory; Elephant Bracelet - Forever 21; Ring - 3 10 Rosemont]

When I lived in England, so many girls wore tights with shorts there.  Some wore Keds/Conversey, some wore flats, some wore booties.  I quickly adopted the look since I had to live out of 2 suitcases for 5 months and loved having multiple options.  I also started my blazer obsession over there, and scarves were a must.  What do you think about the "uni" look?

Mod

[Necklace - J.Crew Factory; Dress, Gloves, Tights & Booties - Target; Purse - ASOS]

When I shop at Target, I tend to go for things on super sale (for example, I used my Target Cartwheel app the other day to get 25% off the already on sale athletic wear, for which I already had an $8 off coupon.  SCORE!) but when I saw this dress, I knew I found my Christmas Eve dress.  I love the mod silhouette and funky design in the winter white.  Added with the leather gloves and quilted purse, it just seems so Twiggy.

The awesome black square bauble necklace was a gift for Christmas from the boyfriend, and I'm in love (with both... but definitely the necklace ;)).

Elements of Style: Reese Witherspoon

I've been obsessed with Reese Witherspoon for a lonnnnggggg time.  I will be honest, she is the actress I most identify with, so that may have something to do with it.  Especially because my roommates in college would describe me as Reese in Sweet Home Alabama (I have had multiple "You have a baby... in a bar!" moments in my life).  But I have always found her style to be something in the back of my mind (and in the front of my closet).  She can pull off any hair style (and color) or look as long as she tailors it to herself - and she does an excellent job at that (or her stylist... can I be her?).  Reese's style is practical and current, while immaculate.  I'm sorry but who looks that good and has 3 children?!

Elements of Reese's Style
1. The arm bag - Regardless of the style, it always rests on the arm
2. Classic Cuts - Blazers and Cigarette Pants, A-Line Skirts & Dresses
3. Simple Jewelry - Jade Earrings, Simple Chains, Classic Watches
4. Booties - Suede, Heeled, & Flat
5. Flirty Skirts & Dresses - A-Line & Mini

Giving Thanks

[Baret - Accessorize; Sweater - Ross; Jeans - American Eagle; Booties - Target]

THANK YOU!

This is the day of giving thanks, so I'm taking this time to give thanks to one of my many, many blessings - you!  I love my blog followers and I appreciate you every day.  After hours and hours talking about investments, staring at spreadsheets, completing pounds and pounds of paperwork, and creating materials, it's refreshing to do something that is fun, appreciated, and so me.  After one of my very favorite people at work suggested I indulge myself and throw myself into my hobbies outside of the workplace, I started The Crown Bijoux, and it just keeps getting better and better.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Those small moments you come and visit mean more than you could ever understand.

XO Sarah

Pumpkin Shopping

[T-Shirt, Purse, S-Necklace & Booties - Target; Jeans - American Eagle; Cardigan - H&M]

It was windy & cold and we really weren't expecting that type of weather.  I'm so not ready for fall.  However, boyfriend promised me a pumpkin before the season was over (he doesn't know it yet, but he will be trying my roasted pumpkin seeds).  I wish this big pappy was the one I took home but I picked a perfect and small one that I held like a child all the way home.

I hope you're enjoying the last remnants of fall before stupid winter is upon us! :P

Stray Hair

[Top - Express; Blazer - Kohl's; Skirt - Gap; Boots - Target; Clutch - Strawberry; Bracelet - Forever21]

As I type this post, boyfriend is making me watch a scary movie.  It's something with an elevator and M. Night Shamaylan.  I'm just trying to find things to distract me (I'm glad I got to keep the light on though) because I'm the biggest baby on earth.  I blame The Ring.  It was horrible and scared me half to death.  I also have never watched all of The Sixth Sense because I know what happens and I just can't handle it.  Ahhhhhh... SCARY!

Weekend Getaway

[Necklace, Bag & Booties - Target; Sweater, Dress as Skirt, Knot Bracelet, Elephant Bracelet, Bow Ring, Infinity Ring - Forever 21; Belt - H&M; Pearl Nest Ring - 3:10 Rosemont]

I love Alexandria.  Just love. A couple of weekends ago, we traveled to the Port City for some relaxation and much needed get out of town fun.  I love the old buildings, brick, pretty colors, and fall decorations.  I could just walk around here for days and days and find something new each time.  I even discovered a Lou Lou's (accessory store) and Paper Source to indulge my weaknesses.  And I'm pretty sure I gained 12 lbs with all the delicious food I consumed including the most awesome Middle Eastern cuisine I've ever had (fried artichokes, anyone?)
